Released on March 12, 1994, ‘Up To Our Hips’ peaked at Number Eight on the UK charts and Number 10 in Scottland. It saw the group divert from the lighter pop heard on their previous releases and aim for something more darker, heavier and organ-led.

According to a press release, the album was created by “a band under pressure” as late keyboardist Rob Collins was involved in a legal case at the time and the band feared that he would be sent to prison. The album’s lyrics reflected the group’s stress at the time.

‘Up To Our Hips’ featured its lead single ‘Can’t Get Out Of Bed’ as well as fan favourites such as ‘I Never Want An Easy Life If Me And He Were Ever To Get There’ and ‘Jesus Hairdo’.
