Kelly Clarkson and Miranda Lambert have covered Chappell Roan’s ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ together – watch the video below.
The two singers performed “a duet of one of their favourite songs” on a recent episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show.
“I love Chappell,” Clarkson told Lambert. “This last album [‘The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess’] specifically is what turned me on to her. It’s so good.” Lambert agreed: “It’s so good. My brother and his husband were like, ‘You have to hear this!'”
The latter went on to say she has since become “obsessed” with Roan, adding that she was disappointed that the pair didn’t get to meet at the MTV VMAs this month. “I love anything authentic,” Lambert explained. “It’s so cool.”
Later, Clarkson praised Roan’s “insane” vocals as well as her “funny” and “clever” lyrics – which she compared to those of Lambert’s.
Following the interview, the two singers performed a stripped-back acoustic cover of Roan’s hit single ‘Good Luck, Babe!’. “It’s such a good song!” Clarkson said at the end of the outing. Watch above.

Roan delivered a fiery, medieval-inspired performance of ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ at the MTV VMAs 2024, where she also won the Best New Artist award. During her acceptance speech, she dedicated the prize to the “queer and trans people who fuel pop”.
“To the gays who dedicate my songs to someone they love or hate,” Roan added. “Thank you to the people who are fans, who listen to me, who hear me when I share my joy and fears. Thank you for listening.”
Additionally, ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ was nominated for the Song Of The Summer award – but it lost out to ‘Fortnight’ by Taylor Swift featuring Post Malone.
Roan recently shared an update on her “super weird” upcoming second album, which will follow last year’s ‘…Midwest Princess’. So far, she has around five or six songs ready for the project.
In a glowing five-star review of Roan’s recent Brixton show, NME wrote: “From the moment she struts in, it’s undeniable that Chappell Roan is the ultimate pop star.”
