Netflix has announced the premiere date for the highly anticipated second season of Arcane – find out all the details below.

Today (September 20), Netflix confirmed during its Geeked event that Arcane season two will arrive on the streaming platform on November 9. However, it also confirmed that the season will be split into three “acts”.

While it is currently unknown how many episodes will make up each act, act two will arrive on November 16 and act three premieres on November 23. Act three will serve as the epic conclusion to the Arcane series, which was confirmed to end with season 2 in June.

Netflix has also shared a new clip from Arcane season 2, which sees Vi do battle with several brawlers in an illegal fight pit. Watch the clip below.

Earlier this month, the tracklist for Arcane season 2 was also revealed, with the likes of Twenty One PilotsStray Kids and Fever 333 all set to feature with new tracks. Other artists contributing to the soundtrack include Ashnikko, D4vd, King Princess and Imagine Dragons, who are teaming up with rapper JID for an updated version of the season 1 theme song ‘Enemy’.

Arcane season 2 will pick up immediately after the fallout of season 1, which ended with Jinx (Ella Purnell) launching an attack on the Piltover council, which “sets the stage for a dire escalation of the conflict between Piltover and Zaun,” culminating in a showdown between Jinx and Vi (Hailee Steinfeld).

While Arcane will draw to a close, series co-creator Christian Linke says the show is just “the beginning” of Riot Games’ “larger storytelling journey”. Linke added: “From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind, which means the story of Arcane wraps up with this second season. But Arcane is just the first of many stories that we want to tell in Runeterra.”

The first season proved a hit for Netflix. Within a week of debuting, it became number one on the streaming service’s global charts, taking the top spot from K-drama Squid Game.

The show also took home Best Adaptation at The Game Awards 2022, winning over the likes of Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Earlier that year, the show also won 4 of the 5 Emmy awards it was nominated for, including Outstanding Animated Program.
